While we might be growing all over the globe, our roots are firmly planted in South Africa. As a result, we are proud to have received an invitation to participate in the Made In Africa Expo in Johannesburg, courtesy of the Department of Trade, Industry, and Competition (DTIC).
This event took place from 2-4 November and served as a pivotal platform for industry leaders to converge and discuss the intricacies of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), an initiative that facilitates the access of Sub-Saharan African products into the United States through reduced import tariffs.
Our Durban-based team also got to attend the AGOA conference, where esteemed figures such as President Ramaphosa and US Trade Ambassador Tai addressed the audience. President Ramaphosa’s encouragement for investors to capitalize on the extensive Agoa deal resonated with our mission in the green tech sector.
With our mission to bring sustainable, cost-effective solutions to our industry partners, the expo provided a strategic platform for networking. We made some meaningful connections with entities such as Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) and Naamsa, as well as valuable suppliers aligned with our green technology ethos. Our outreach extended to potential buyers, both domestically and across the African continent, signalling promising opportunities for collaboration.
