We offer our industrial users cost reducing, low carbon alternatives to traditional energy sources. M+S is looking for an innovative engineer to join our dynamic team across a range of our products. The work is often multidisciplinary and often requires independent problem solving and initiative.

The incumbent will be expected to demonstrate creativity, commercial grasp, design rigour and self-starting attributes. maxwell+spark fosters a diverse, fast paced, progressive work environment with a multidisciplinary approach to engineering without micro-management. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing design and manufacturing of products or product components, with direct support from and to the relevant Product Owner and other engineers.
  • Assist in solving complex engineering problems outside of the scope of general engineering and engineering after sales.
  • Assist in testing and documenting the products and components as they evolve.
  • Support and enable certification procedures where required.
  • The role will evolve to include deep involvement in the innovation, design and development of new models.
  • Lead others, including fabrication or production staff, to execute builds.
  • Drive electronic project deliveries including managing suppliers and fabricators.
  • Project planning and writing progress reports
  • Monitoring product data, assessing and reporting on trends
  • Embedded MCU programming
  • Applications development
  • Prototype design, evaluation and testing.
  • Creating component specifications and validating this with the originator

Requirements:

  • BSc Eng. (Electronic) with 5+ years’, or MSc Eng and 2+ years’ work experience.
  • Strong aptitude for clear technical writing and communication.
  • Strong knowledge of designing circuit schematics and PCB design including with microcontrollers.
  • Strong knowledge of developing firmware for a range of microcontrollers.
  • Solid knowledge of circuit simulation.
  • Experience with CAN (Controller Area Network) will be beneficial, but not required.
  • Motivated, with proficiency in testing and reporting in electronic related matters.
  • Driver’s license and willingness to travel intermittently.
  • Ability to work well in a team, but also independently.
  • Further qualifications in/outside the field of electronic engineering are an advantage.
  • Interest in energy storage systems and power electronics.
